Who are the scholars?

The author, Shaykh 'Abd-us Salām Ibn Barajas (raḥimahullāh), in this treatise addresses a question asked by most Muslims today who are striving for the path of acquiring useful Islamic knowledge, namely: "Who are the scholars? " Who are the ones who have the real knowledge and who can be trusted with their religion and used as sources of knowledge?

This question is of utmost importance and that is why the Salaf scholars used to urge people to be sure when it came to learning the religion and warned the seeker of knowledge not to use wrong people. So they said: "This concern is certainly your religion, so let each of you see from whom he takes his religion."
